Viola met Mary at a wedding; neither of them knew anyone at the wedding, and so they got chatting and have since became lifelong friends.
Mary helped Viola buy her first house on Priestman street which cost £300. Viola later moved to Leeds road, and then to Duckworth Lane nearer to her workplace at Bradford Royal Infirmary, where she was a Nursing Assistant.
