Viola McKenzie and friend Viola, Manningham, c.1960

The two Viola’s were known as Big Viola and Little Viola as they both had the same name. Viola McKenzie made the dresses they were wearing, as she was a seamstress. Viola was the first Jamaican she met in Bradford, and they remained lifelong friends.
