Attila and Jean Bielik, Wedding Day, 1962
Attila Bielik fled to the UK in 1956 after the Hungarian Revolution. Initially housed in a temporary camp in the midlands, he chose to move to Bradford, where he met Jean Atkinson at a dance hall. The pair were married in 1962
Jean was bradford-born and bred, and came from a close family. A professional hairdresser by trade, she shunned her signature blonde locks and dyed her hair a deep red for her wedding.
