Viktor Dzerins, Germany, 1946

Viktor Dzerins in a displaced persons’ camp after the war. Having been occupied by Germany, Latvian soldiers had to prove they weren’t involved in war crimes in order to be classified as a displaced person and join the European Voluntary Workers Scheme. Viktor was able to move to the UK in 1947.
