Viktor Dzerins, East Yorkshire, 1948
Viktor Dzerins in a displaced persons’ camp after arriving in the UK as part of the European Voluntary Workers Scheme. Upon moving to the UK, Latvian migrants were moved into hostels or holding camps and given resources to seek jobs and homes. Viktor went to work as a labourer after this picture was taken.
